Q: I can’t download your installation file because my anti-virus is giving me an alert.
Does this mean there is a virus or malware in StepShot?

A: Definitely not! It’s related to the fact that Shot Solutions is a small independent software company, and your anti-virus application does not recognize the install file. You can verify that our install file is completely ‘clean’ by using an online virus/malware scanning service like Virustotal.

Q: Does StepShot have any special requirements or pre-requisites?

A: Apart from windows XP or any later version of Windows, there is one pre-requisite: the Microsoft .NET Framework Client V4.0. If it’s not already present on your PC, it will be automatically downloaded and installed during StepShot installation.

 

Known issues in the current version of StepShot:

1. If you have added a logo to a history list, then export the history list to an MHT format file, the exported file will not include your logo. To avoid this problem, export to a PDF or HTML format file instead.

2. If export a history list to an RTF or XLS format file, the image quality of very large images will be degraded. To avoid this problem, use the Magnifier while you capture images. The StepShot Help file contains a section which explains how Magnifier can help when you are capturing ‘big’ screenshot images.
